This
is really a proud and nostalgic moment for the Bhatts. Almost after 25 years of
Mahesh Bhatt directed ‘Daddy”, released in 1989, is going to get a theatrical
production is to take place in forthcoming International Theatre Festival 2015
in Pakistan and it will be organized by the National Academy of Performing
Arts, Karachi. Pooja Bhatt is too excited about the whole thing and even
twitted about it. She says in an interview "It was sincere and moving. I
realized again, not for the first time, that nothing beats a powerful narrative”.
Pooja felt really nostalgic during the play and she said Daddy had such a
moving story. It is still relevant in our lives.
The
part played by Pooja is still not decided for its theatrical version but good
news is the play will soon go to Benguluru, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai and
will be performed abroad in December. Daddy is all about the delicate
relationship between Mahesh Bhatt and his elder daughter Pooja.
Imran
Zahid stars is in the lead role and he will perform the lead character that
originally played by Anupam Kher. He is too nervous to portray the powerful
character and takes it as a challenge. The film is special for the Bhatts as
with this film Pooja Bhatt started her acting career.
The
film Daddy won various awards like actor Anupam Kher won Filmfare Critics Award
in 1991 for Best Performance and Filmfare for Best Dialogue and the film also won the prestigious National
Award.
