Vidya Balan to Act in Bengali Actress Suchitra Sen’s Biopic

National Award winning Actress Vidya Balan is all set to play the lead role in the biopic of renowned Bengali Actress late Suchitra Sen. Vidya Balan has always shown her keen interest on acting in a biopic, and finally she managed to grab the role she wants. She is now doing her best to prepare for this role in which she will be seen portraying the role of Suchitra Sen, who is considered to be one of the most gorgeous and talented actresses of Indian Cinema. 

Vidya Balan has always expressed her love for Bengali culture especially Kolkata. She did her shooting at Kolkata for many films including Parineeta and Kahaani. On the other hand Riya Sen and Raima Sen, granddaughters of the late Suchitra Sen, had earlier hinted that they were making a biopic on their beloved grandmother. Now, Vidya Balan has been handed the opportunity to portray this role and explore her love for Bengali tradition, culture to some more extents.

Currently Vidya Balan is busy shooting for ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahaani’ which also has Emraan Hashmi in the lead role. As per sources, Vidya is now reading four scripts including this Suchitra Sen biopic. Vidya is also rumoured to play lead role in the biopic of Benazir Bhutto.

Suchitra Sen was one of the most talented dancers in her own time. In order to reprise the character properly Vidya Balan is reported to be going through proper training in Kathak. As per sources, Pandit Jayu Raman has been approached to train her Kathak dance.
