Adnan Sami Famous Pakistani Singer Seeks Indian Citizenship

The 43 year old renowned Pakistani singer, Adnan Sami asked for Indian citizenship for the second time. However, the first plea for Indian citizenship of him has been rejected by the centre approximately two years back. The famous singer has sung for many Bollywood films and released several albums in India. This time he has made a application to Home Ministry, Foreigners’ Division. According to the official of the division, the application of Adnan Sami is under consideration.

Last time, the home ministry brought the request of being Indian citizen of the singer to the Ministry of Law but the Law Ministry has refused to give the nod to the request by saying that granting the citizenship of India lies under the Citizenship Act of Home Ministry. However, Law Ministry has agreed to help the foreigners’ division to decide anything out of it.

A person can only be given citizenship under the act if he/she has carried out any service to the cause of human progress, literature, world peace, philosophy, art, science. Well, Adnan Sami really has strong chance as he contributed to the Bollywood music industry for several years.

However, his rejected application was submitted to the special branch of Mumbai Police. Officials hasn’t forenamed any information yet about second appeal of him. Sami, the Pak singer has entered India in 2001 and he also has visited many counties including UK between 2001 and 2013. Adnan Sami also has professional and business both the visas.
